CHICAGO, IL – Liposuction remains one of the top cosmetic procedures performed in the United States today. Since its inception in 1974 by Dr. Giorgio Fischer, a gynecologist from Italy, physicians have continually strived to further refine the technique, increasing the results while decreasing complications and recovery. Liposuction was revolutionized in 1985 with California dermatologist Dr. Jeffrey A. Klein’s invention of the tumescent technique. But impressive advances can still being seen to this day. Dr. Bafitis’ comprehensive Bafitis Integrated Liposculpture Abdominoplasty (BILA) procedure is a combination of liposculpture and abdominoplasty that can be performed with minimal anesthesia and minimal downtime.
